The Jashanmal Guide: Choosing the Perfect Cabin Luggage
These are the things you should look for when shopping for a carry-on luggage.
Have you ever stood inside a store filled with carry-on luggage and wondered how in the world will you pick THE ONE for your next travel? Do you start with colour, size, or features?
Undoubtedly, you want something cool yet sturdy and reliable 💪. But what other factors should you consider to have a hassle-free journey with your carry-on?
1. Size and Weight
All airlines have different size and weight requirements, especially for international and domestic flights. Before buying a carry-on, check your airline’s baggage size restrictions to ensure the size is perfect for the overhead compartment. Imagine paying an extra fee because your bag won’t fit in the overhead compartment and needs to be checked in. Yikes! Also, look for a lightweight cabin bag. Most airlines have a 7kg limit, which means you won’t be able to bring a lot of stuff if the luggage itself already weighs more than half of the limit.😳
💡 Some airlines include wheels and handles as part of the size restriction. Double check if the dimensions mentioned about your carry-on includes wheels and handles too.
2. Hardside or Softside
Whichever you choose, it all boils down to the quality of the carry-on luggage. Neither can assure a longer lifespan over the other - hardside can crack, softside can tear. So, pick a carry-on from a brand that is known to have excellent quality and exceptional warranty. FYI, most of our bags come with 5 to 10 years warranty. For added protection from wear and tear, dress it up with a luggage cover (which btw, we also have).
3. Colour and Style
From cool, warm, and neutral colours to solid and patterned ones, the options are endless. Worried you might change your mind in the long run? We have an awesome range of stylish luggage cover designs! Collect different styles to match your business or holiday #OOTD.🤗
It's the little things that matter the most. We couldn't agree more, especially when it comes to cabin bags. Little things such as internal fastenings are needed to secure your items inside and keep your clothes a little less wrinkled. Handles should be easy to pull up and push down without being too wiggly. If you're going for a carry-on with zippers, make sure it doesn't get stuck or it might leave your items exposed! And oh, the wheels. Imagine if one of 'em comes off your luggage while dragging it around the airport? How mortifying...🙈 Check the wheels if it's hard-wearing and easy to maneuver.
Keep in mind that these are the parts that are mostly used, so always test its durability before leaving the store.
